Both Aiden and Sara are studio faeries. Though originally Aiden was a wild faery, he soon fell in love with Sara and now they both help out the mad painter and his many paintings. They are always seen together.

This watercolor measures 5x7 inches.

Very lovely James. I'm impressed by the depth you get out of that hole in the trees. That makes this painting work more than anything. The figures are perfect and they seem content and occupied with watching the wisps.

May I ask, what brand of ink do you use for the line drawing. It "blurs" so nicely together with the watercolor, or is it the paper that lets go the ink? The effect reminds me of Dulac, and I'd very much like to try it myself. If its a professional secret, I truly understand.

Well done as ever! :)

Thank you Ben. I'm a big fan of Dulac, along with Rackham. So to hear your words about my work is a true compliment.

I actually use Higgins non-waterproof Sepia ink. It bleeds in with watercolor and you can also water it down if you wish to have a more subtle line quality. I also use Gesso with my watercolors. Opps! The secrets are out! But thats ok, I don't mind at all.

Thanks for your kind words Ben!

Your love of these two artists is quite obvious when viewing your work. I see Rackham in the ents and trees mostly.

Thanks for the tips on the materials. Also, congrats on that faerie painting book that you were in. I bought it based on your stuff alone. The rest of the book is pretty dreadful. Your stuff shines like the sun in there!

Gesso huh? Not to take up too much of your time, but I must ask. For what reason? Doh! Skip that. I just went and read the "how to" in the book again. Opaque for glows and highlights, not for prepping the paper.

Do you attend any shows in the west, where I could see your works and meet you in person someday?
