Description

In a place unknown, hidden to the darkness of the world, Revealed only by love, too the young at heart, Is a lovely wood, verdant, lush and leafy. Where green fades too gold in the light of the sun. A land of joy and light where darkness has no part.

Since ages past, this wood changes all who enter, A place of fairy smiles and laughing enchantment. Where blithesome creatures dance to music, Whose source is unseen and s to end. Gleefully filling all the wood, hoary floor to verdant mantle, From its sparse fringe to its lush green center.

On a high point at the very center of the wood, Sets a rock with lichened face and a bald round top. All craggy and worn by timeless past, Whipped by the winds and beaten by the rain. It knows all the past and awaits voicelessly the future. Now he sets protected by a tree formed hood.

From the edge of the wood to its middle so bright, Runs a path well hidden to craggy hearts and closed up minds. But to the young of heart with minds that see, The path bids welcome, come follow me, From a place of darkness and tragic waste, My way is open from the worldly edge to the center of light.

Following the path, an a day of misty sheen, Walked a young lady, with tresses of gold and laughing eyes. Her quiet smile revealed she knew her way in the wood. The fairies danced and the elves did sing, They lightened her step midst the flowers and the trees, To the rock she came, the lovely Nadine.

The mossy old rock bid her to sit, watch the woodland games, About her head the fairies danced, the leaves fluttered, the trees swayed. Her eyes did smile at their joyous dance and winsome frolic. But politely distracted, she listened for another sound And then her heart warmed, when from behind she heard, The soft measured paces of her beloved James!
