Artist's Comments
I've finally completed the FOUR SEASONS and I am very happy with the way that they turned out. I worked on all four of them during the last 6 months and let me say that it was a journey. The beautiful maidens for these paintings truly made them special and I owe them my gratitude. The landscapes are completely made up and inspired by my many walks by the stream in Valley Forge Park, two miles down the road from where we live. It is absolutely a beautiful and peaceful place and I always feel like I am walking in God's garden when I am there.
I hope you enjoy them and I hope that each painting gives you a sense of peace and a sense of love in the same way that I felt while painting them. The originals are created in watercolor and they measure 26x32. They were commissioned by a lovely couple just outside of Pittsburgh. Prints are available on my website. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Do not complain about thorns among roses. Be grateful for roses among thorns.
So I commented on the one I like best, which was also a very hard choice for me and probably only made because I love winter and snow above all.
Anyway, what I'd like to say about them all: The detailling in these pieces is pure amazement and it's not hard to believe that it took you 6 months to work on them. Also, the landscapes are work of genius. They all look different and yet you can believe they're in the same forest, aspects of one and the same area.
Not to mention that your colouring is –as always– absolutely brilliant and brings the models and animals to life.
I guess I should finally sum it up because I'm sure you heard it all quite often and I don't want to waste your time any longer:
Your skill is amazing and these beautiful pictures are pure delight for the eye!
